1080x2400 Display in UEFI stage

Hi Nvidia:
We’re working on AGX Orin 64GB + Custom board + 1080x2400 display resolution HDMI, which is based on Jetpack 6.2.

The issue happens during UEFI boot:

In AGX Orin, such resolution is supported only in OS stage, not in UEFI stage, as the topic described before:

What I want to know is whether NVIDIA has officially provided any new patches for the edk2-nvidia source code to assist developers in enabling screens with non-standard resolutions (such as 1080*2400).

Based on the provided context, it appears that the question is related to the support for non-standard resolutions in the UEFI stage of the Jetson AGX Orin platform.

According to the context, the Jetson AGX Orin platform only supports a resolution of 800x480 in the UEFI stage, and higher resolutions such as 1080x2400 are only supported in the OS stage.

Regarding the question about whether NVIDIA has officially provided any new patches for the edk2-nvidia source code to assist developers in enabling screens with non-standard resolutions, the context does not provide a clear answer.

However, it is mentioned that the Jetson Orin NX and Nano modules support HDMI in addition to DP, and that the HDMI support can be customized by using a specific config file (p3509-a02-p3767-0000.conf) to flash the board.

It is also worth noting that the context mentions that the Jetson Linux 36.4.3 release supports new reference power modes on Jetson Orin Nano and Jetson Orin NX production modules, delivering up to 2x generative AI performance. However, it does not specifically mention any updates or patches related to UEFI stage resolution support.

In comparison, the context does not provide information on the Jetson Thor platform, which is mentioned in the question. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a comprehensive answer regarding the support for non-standard resolutions in the UEFI stage of the Jetson Thor platform.

In summary, based on the provided context, it appears that the Jetson AGX Orin platform only supports a resolution of 800x480 in the UEFI stage, and higher resolutions are only supported in the OS stage. However, the context does not provide a clear answer regarding any official patches or updates for the edk2-nvidia source code to support non-standard resolutions in the UEFI stage.

Hi jizhaohui,

Sorry that we don’t have such patch for edk2-nvidia to support the custom resolution like 1080*2400 currently.
The display driver code in UEFI is not public.
