1Gbps packet forwarding

Hey there,

I’m trying to get the default ubuntu OS to forward packet at 1Gbps between the default eth0 to an USB-to-Ethernet adapter (USB 3.0, 1Gbps). I’m consistently getting around 90Mbps using speed test. When I am direct connected I was able to get around 200Mbps or more. I’m wondering if there’s any bus limitation here? is the USB 3.0 really capable of 5gbps?

mii-tool eth0

mii-tool eth1

Could you share your test command?

that’s ok, I was using an old 2.0 usb dongle. It got better with a new 3.0. Sorry about that.
