[367.18] console font garbled

Hello,

I just updated to 367.18 w/ kernel 4.6.0 and once the nvidia kernel module is loaded (w/ or w/o kms), the console font gets garbled, meaning there is a white shifted box overlayed over each and every letter “a”.

Setting the font anew with setfont fixes the font until one switches to X and back to the vconsole-- this garbles the font again. Another setfont fixes it and the circle begins anew. ;-)

I hope this gets fixed before the final release since in the past (a few years ago) when something similar happened, it took quite a while for this to get fixed. :(

Thanks,
Matthias

Hello,

I forgot to add: This happens irrespective of the chosen font. I usually use ter-116 (Terminus font) but changing to the default font or anything else shows the exact same behavior.

Thanks,
Matthias

This driver version is extremely unstable. It causes my system to lock up and kernel panic after 5 minutes.
VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 630] (rev a1).
Going back to 364.19 makes things stable again.
