396 Driver Crashes after Ubuntu 18.04 Kernel update -> 4.15.0-24

Running MSI GS63VR-7RF w/ GTX 1060

Hangs after booting with no login screen, can access tty, log file attached.
Not certain what I’m looking at but noticed (Line 6239 of Bug-report):

xset -q:

xset: unable to open display “”

nvidia-settings -q all:

Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
No protocol specified

ERROR: Unable to find display on any available system

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I can no longer login. :(

Please delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf and reboot.
If it still doesn’t work, create a new nvidia-bug-report.log.

Perfect, thank you.
Any idea why the old file was corrupt?

Oliver

It wasn’t old, it was newly created by nvidia-xconfig. Don’t know what/who ran that but it doesn’t work on optimus laptops.
