4080 high temperature, no fans with 560

My 4080 backplate is very hot and GPU temperature sensors show ~50 degree. Yet the fans are not running.
What wonky default profile is that or is there a driver problem?

This is something I’ve also seen in Windows though I can’t say to the same extent. Mostly it was idling at ~30 degree and I didn’t care much about it during winter season. Very different now to the hot summer. :D

P.S.: I do use CoolerControl and a manual profile usually. I’m not completely helpless to solve this problem. I just wonder why I have to do something and there’s no better default profile. Forgot to set my own profile and used the default one and it was running so hot it triggered me to write this post.

The fan curve and fan stop are set by the OEM (Asus, Gigabyte, etc) in firmware, so unless you have a reference card it’s whatever brand you have. Check their site/forums/whatever, here may be reports for that specific card and possibly an updated firmware. 50c seems high, I think most of them set fan stop to top out around 40c.

I’ve pretty much never used default fan curves as I always want some air moving through the heatsink.
