[580.95.05] [KDE 6.4.5] Suspend sometimes breaks (won't reach actual shutdown, won't wake up)

nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (611.1 KB)

I’m on Ubuntu 25.10, KDE 6.4.5, Wayland. Usually suspend works just fine and wakes up correctly.

However, sometimes (roughly 1:7 attempts) when I suspend, the screen turns off but the computer LEDs and fan stay on, never shutting down. In this state the computer won’t wake up and I have to reboot. Syslog shows:

kwin_wayland_wrapper[3006]: kwin_wayland_drm: Atomic modeset test failed! Permission denied
kwin_wayland_wrapper[3006]: kwin_wayland_drm: Setting dpms mode failed!
kwin_wayland_wrapper[3006]: kwin_wayland_drm: Pageflip timed out! This is a bug in the nvidia-drm kernel driver
kwin_wayland_wrapper[3006]: kwin_wayland_drm: Please report this at Linux - NVIDIA Developer Forums
kwin_wayland_wrapper[3006]: kwin_wayland_drm: With the output of ‘sudo dmesg’ and ‘journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland --boot 0’

I press the suspend button in KDE.

The driver version is 580.95.05 (package 580.95.05-0ubuntu1) and the GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER.
