I get freezes only in UE5 games. I’ve seen freezes in other games too, but only in very specific cases (for example, repeatedly switching DLSS modes in Cyberpunk 2077), so it’s not really an issue for me. So far, UE5 games are the only ones where I’ve had in-game freezes.

Hi All,

I have been able to observe freeze issue for 2-3 seconds while playing game “Black Myth: Wukong” and then recover itself which keeps happening again and again.

We have a bug 5376205 filed internally for tracking purpose.

Known issue with Blackwell (50xx) cards. Wait for a new driver release, should be soon.

Silent Hill 2 Remake completely crashes OS. Xid 109.

Hi @wierzbiniak95

Thank you for reporting issue, from your post, it looks like you are experiencing multiple issues with game title “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition” where all of them might have different root cause.

  1. Performance degradation

  2. Stuttering

  3. Game freeze

Just wanted to know if you see above issues in similar sequence while playing a game resulting in freeze or one of the issues happen randomly one at a time.

Hi @mr_dbg_g

I have local repro for this crash issue and being tracked via 5724208

1. Performance degradation – It builds up over time during gameplay until it reaches a certain level.
2. Stuttering – This occurs as a direct consequence of the performance drop mentioned in point one.
3. Freezes – These occur randomly. Sometimes the game recovers after a few seconds, but other times it hangs completely, requiring a hard restart. A few weeks ago, this was most noticeable while diving for loot in a cave on Skellige. The game froze about 10 times, requiring a restart each time before I could clear all the chests.

Note: These issues only occur when running the game in DX12 mode.

I have also reported this issue to Valve, as have several other users:

Thanks.

Hi, I have noticed performance degradation when using Native Wayland, SDL/Wine Wayland
Here is more detail related to that Performance Loss wine-walyand / SDL-wayland

@amrits would be great if you can check it out.

Direct Scanout also not working when i use Dedicated graphics (i.e NVIDIA) on a AMD System. More information is present here.

Direct Scanout not working on Hybrid Laptop (AMD/Nvidia)

Though it works If i run the game/application on IGPU in fullscreen.

Hi, we almost have the same config (Zen5 9700 + RTX5080). Would it be possible that you share your save file before it crashes? Especially when you are in that cave in Skellige.

@zebcom Yes. I managed to replicate the problem in the cave I spoke about (mistook the locations earlier, map updated). Attached is the save file. The game froze again after 5 minutes of swimming around.

I wonder if that issue with Witcher 3 is 50 series specific or there’s something else involved. I have 4080 and I am experiencing no freezes when playing Witcher 3. I also wonder if UE5 titles freezing is affecting all cards/configurations on 590 driver because I haven’t noticed too many people complaining about it (OTOH majority might still be using 580 driver).

I have the same issues with an RTX 5080 and a Ryzen 7 9800x3d so that might be a 50 series specific issue.

Hello,

Update : I’ve uninstalled 590 drivers and installed 580.126.18 drivers. All is now working, no more crashes when RT is enabled.

Good for you, however this is discussion about 590. These are known regressions in 590 AFAIK.

To be honest, until recently I wasn’t aware of the proprietary and open branches of the drivers, I believed It was just a kind of upgrade of the 580 (something like Windows upgrade drivers mode). For the moment, I will stick to proprietary drivers, but I hope my intial post can help someone (user or developer…).

Hey guys!
Is there any estimate for when the next version will be released? I’m currently trying to play Resident Evil Requiem with my 5060 Ti, but I’m running into a lot of graphical glitches. Just wondering if there’s any update or timeline. Thanks!
