I have an issue with The Witcher 3, while streaming the game using Apollo and Moonlight, that I can reproduce consistently. Right after loading the save, after few seconds in general and moving the camera, the game simply freezes and must be stopped manually. I can’t reproduce it without streaming the game (or maybe it happens later? The game tends to freeze after some time even on drivers 575 - 590, but without this error).
From what I can tell from dmesg, it crashes with NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:0b:00): 109, pid=14793, name=witcher3.exe, channel 0x00000026, errorString CTX SWITCH TIMEOUT, Info 0x13c039
Here is my setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5700X3D
- GPU: RTX 5070 Ti
- RAM: 64GB
- OS: CachyOS (on kernel 6.19)
- Proton: Proton Cachyos 20260227 (steam linux runtime)
The game is installed on Heroic Launcher, and ran through Steam as a non-steam game.
Here are two logs of when it happened
nvidia-bug-report-595.log.gz (801.6 KB)
nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (787.1 KB)
And this is a gamesave (with the exact settings) that triggers the bug after few seconds.
witcher3.tar.gz (1.1 MB)
Feel free to ask me anything else that could help debugging this issue.
