About a / b Bootloader

Hello, I have some questions about TX2 NX and Xavier NX.

1.In TX2NX and Xavier NX, is there a mechanism to know whether the a / b Bootloader booted on slot/a or slot/b?

2.In TX2NX, can a / b side of the root file system be mounted on the SD card?

3.In TX2NX and Xavier NX, does secure boot work if the a / b root file system is placed in an external storage such as an SD card?

4.In Xavier NX, is there a way to know the information failed by Cboot?
For example, is there a register that tells whether Secure boot failed at Cboot?

5.In TX2NX, is there a way to know the information failed by Cboot and Uboot?
For example, at the time of Cboot and Uboot, is there a register indicating whether or not Secure boot failed?

6.Is there a way to know the current and voltage values for Chapter 2.9 Overcurrent Throttling of Xavier NX data sheet?

hello sakata-s,

you may looking for bootloader logs to understand it’s boot from which bootloader partition, and, boot up messages.
please setup serial console to gather the logs, it’s output at default baud-rate, 115200/8n1.
A/B root file system, or Rootfs redundancy is disabled by default. To enable it, see Enabling Bootloader Redundancy.

Thank you for reply. Is there a way to see the bootloader logs internally?
(For example, executing an API or entering a command)

Also, I want to know about question 2~6.

hello sakata-s,

bootloader logs only available via serial console, you may refer to Jetson Nano Style - Serial Console - JetsonHacks to setup the wiring to gather complete logs.

Q2
you may flash redundant root file systems on an external storage device,
please also refer to Xavier NX’s configuration file, i.e. flash_l4t_t194_spi_sd_p3668_rootfs_ab.xml

Q3
it works, the location of root file system is not related.
the concept of Secureboot is to prevent execution of unauthorized code during boot process through chain-of-trust;
those authenticates boot components (such as, Boot Configuration Table, bootloader binaries, and warmboot vector) were signed using private key.

Q4,Q5
please gather complete logs via serial console for reference.

Q6
please check the developer guide, Software-Based Power Consumption Modeling.
you may access INA3221 power monitor to read the values.
