Hi. I want to run Steam and need a card with a driver version 304.22 or better; FlightGear needs a 300-level driver, too. What is my cheapest option here–I assume the card will work with Windows also. I have XP, but don’t use the Internet, just to play games; the main OS is Ubuntu Precise.

I’d get a NVIDIA 750 Ti if I were you. It’s quite cheap and a powerful and efficient little beast. You can even play Battlefield 4 with it on High Settings @ 1080p on Windows.
