I am using a orin nx device with version R35.4.1. I am trying to activate the wireguard module on the kernel level by following the instruction from this issue Wireguard problem on Xavier - #6 by saber.kaygusuz. After following the steps to do this, any time i connect a usb device, orin is not able to detect it. IS there a solution for this or a way to activate the wireguard module?

I don’t feel like these two are relevant,
Maybe you missed some steps when compiling your customized kernel.
Please first try compiling the kernel without changing any kernek config at all, and see if USB devices work now.
