I would like help working around these problems please.
Trying to manually flash AGX ORIN DevKit 64GB according to Quick Start — Jetson Linux
Developer Guide 34.1 documentation
from wsl (Ubuntu-24.04) on Windows 11
I tried several L4T versions (34.1, 35.4.3, 35.5.0 36.4.3) and all end up the same way:
formating FAT filesystem on esp.img failed.
Cleaning ESP mounts..

On the meantime the Jetson displays this when booted, it does not progress and gets worryingly hot in about 20min since the fan is not spinning
The serial console does not appear.
the sdkmanager gui cannot find it, but sdkmanager --list does when in full-recovery mode.
But sdkmanager still fails to create the image

I would have tried from another host machine (on Ubuntu) but unfortunatly it has just broken down and is currently being repaired.
All of this started after I tried to upgrade L4T on the module from the serial console. This is why I am trying to reflash it.
