Anyone know when Early Access to the Isaac GR00T Foundation Models is coming? I personally have no interest in trying to train robots to do basic things like locomotion and dexterity, so I wouldn’t be doing anything until the basic Foundation Models are released, a lot of devs will feel the same way.
- GR00T-Gen for RL environment generation
- GR00T-Mimic for motion and trajectory generation
- GR00T-Dexterity for dexterous manipulation
- GR00T-Control for whole-body control (WBC)
- GR00T-Mobility for robot locomotion and navigation
- GR00T-Perception for semantic understanding and localization
I know the Teleop one is released but I don’t think I will use it because I’m not traing basic movements I would think that would be done by NVidia in the other Foundation Models and don’t need complex movements other than the ones I would think would be covered in the basic Foundation Model
- GR00T-Teleop for generation of synthetic motion trajectory data
My thoughts are a lot of devs just want to use the basic Foundation Model and use a brain to control the basic Foundation Model calls, e.g. getting a Robot to Play Chess would be Stockfish to GR00T foundation calls but not movement training, why would I train a Robot on playing chess when Stockfish already exists and I can just hook it to GR00T foundation model for perception of the board and pieces and dexterity / body movement to move the pieces?
Thanks
