Is our understanding about the containerization approach correct from the architecture above in terms of container component segregation, size etc or more optimized, segregated container images can be created?

From the diagram, do you plan to launch applications inside dockers and communicate between application is across dockers?

yes, exactly and also communication between outside world via Ethernet

We just enabled docker on target and not fully tested the docker environment like few DW samples are not expected to work and need changes in CSV files depends on the application dependencies.
