Awesome a new Update - but what did it actually update?

I am happy and glad to see that there is constant development and improvement to the DGX Spark and so almost every day sometimes twice a day there is a new Update Available. And that two clicks on the buttons make it really easy. Highly appreciate that.

I guess it runs something similar to this

sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo fwupdmgr refresh
sudo fwupdmgr upgrade
sudo reboot

But often after the update and reboot I ask myself… what has been updated. The System still sit on the 580.126.09 Driver and OTA 7.3.1. Thought the 590 Driver and the new DGX_OTA_VERSION 7.4.0 is out already.

Is there a “change log” or a page where I can see what will be update? if yes a link or even better a short note on the dashboard would be nice.

Official release notes:

Does not contain a detailed report for each and every update.

But Debian/Ubuntu comes with some command line tools that give you a more detailed view.

Not a spark as I just updated mine. Just an example from another GPU server.

Those debian packages hold often a changelog (not always).

...

Too much detail? ;-)

There is a additional package called apt-listchanges and a oneliner that might help:

apt-get install -y apt-listchanges

## and then run:

(cd $(mktemp -d) && apt download $(apt list -qq --upgradable | cut -f1 -d"/") && apt-listchanges *.deb) | tee update-report.txt

This will download all packages into a temporary directory and will generate something like this:

If you want to see what changes are in a package use the commands suggested by @cosinus

Thanks a lot that helps!
