I need to do stereoscopic 3D development in C++ that will involve use of OpenGL and GPUs. Any recommendations of best graphics card, memory specifications (for both desktop and notebooks) to accomplish this? I need to take advantage of GPUs for photorealistic rendering. Thank you.
Photorealistic as current movies? No chance…
Current game enginges need years to be as good as they are and the output isn’t by far as photorealistic as movies. But movies needs hours to render one frame :-/
To your question: almost every GPU can handle stereoscopic 3D, but only new ones can display it on 3D screens. Everything else is just performance related.
