So right now everybody seems to be using RTSP, but the protocol is unencrypted, including the credentials if used. I am aware of SRTP but the plugin for gstreamer is in the “bad” category.
Does anybody know of a good, secure, protocol, well supported by gstreamer, to send video from point A to point B without some random malicious actor in the middle being able to, you know, intercept credentials, mess with the stream, etc?
Edit: it appears gst’s rtspsrc supports tls now. Hopefully the smart cities of the future use it.
