I’m facing a critical issue after a recent update and would be grateful for your help.
The Problem:
After running a full system update on Pop!_OS [22.04 LTS], my machine no longer boots into the graphical desktop. I’m met with a persistent black screen (with a blinking cursor). However, the underlying system is running fine, as I have full access via SSH.
What I’ve Tried So Far:
I have already attempted several troubleshooting steps, including:
- [Reinstalling my NVIDIA/AMD graphics drivers]
- [e.g., Checking journalctl -b -1 for critical errors]
- [e.g., Booting with an older kernel from the boot menu]
Unfortunately, none of these actions have resolved the issue.
