Black Screen of Death on 4070 super and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Black Screen of death from the GPU HDMI port. I have tried multiple things currently i have NVIDIA-driver-550 installed using the GUI in Ubuntu

Nvidia smi says no device found

I’m able to use the system from the MotherBoard HDMI port.

any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated

Please run nvidia-bug-report.sh as root and attach the resulting nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file to your post.

There seems to be an issue with the mainboard’s bios, looks like it advertises rbar support but only provides 32bit resources. Please check the bios for the option “Above 4G decoding” and enable it. Furthermore, please make sure CSM is disabled.

Thanks for the pointer. “Above 4G decoding” was enabled by default and CSM was also disabled. after a reading a bit. I disabled the RBAR in the Bios setting. Now im getting the output.

I will address the RBAR issue later. For now I’m able to use my system.
