BlueField-3 B3240: mixed port link type (P1 InfiniBand NDR + P2 Ethernet 25GbE) supported?

The BlueField BSP 4.16.0 release notes (Changes and New Features) state:
“NVIDIA BlueField DPUs support configuring network ports as either Ethernet only or InfiniBand only.”

Could you clarify whether this means:
(a) all ports on one DPU must use the same link type, or
(b) each port can be individually set to InfiniBand or Ethernet?

Specifically, is the following configuration supported on B3240 (900-9D3B6-00CN-AB0)?

  • P1: InfiniBand NDR 400Gb/s (LINK_TYPE_P1=IB)
  • P2: Ethernet 25GbE (LINK_TYPE_P2=ETH) via MAM1Q00A-QSA28 + MMA2P00-AS
  • Both ports operating simultaneously

Please also advise whether the answer differs between DPU mode and NIC mode.

Thank you.

BF3 supports per-port protocol selection (mixed per-port protocol), so a dual-port card can be configured with different protocols on different physical ports (for example, one Ethernet port and one InfiniBand port).

The public BF3 docs state that each port has a protocol type of Ethernet or InfiniBand, and platform specs list support for both protocol families.

This is applicable to DPU mode or NIC mode.
