Flashing my system to 6.0.5 is failing trying to decode utf-8. The end of the log looks like:

@jace.mogill1 are you using Orin devkit? If yes, I’ll move this topic to the appropriate forum.

This is a Drive AGX Orin Developer Kit.

@jace.mogill1
Please power cycle your host and target system and then try to flash again.

After power-cycling both the x86 host and Orin, the flash process fails in the same way. Log is attached.

Please refer to below in DRIVE OS 6.0.5 Linux Release Notes and see if it helps with your issue.

There’s no sign of USB disconnections or other USB problems, however, the byte that has the UTF-8 decoding error is different on today’s try. I will purchase the recommended USB cable and try with it.

At the same time, please also try with USB 2.0 port on the host PC.

I rebooted the PC, plugged the specified USB cable into a USB2.0 port on the PC, and tried to re-flash the Orin using SDKManager, but I got the same UTF-8 decoding error. Log is attached.

Please also provide all logs under ~/.nvsdkm/ for our analysis. Thanks.

This should be the whole ~/.nvsdkm. If you need more info, just let me know.

@jace.mogill1 I sent a private message to you. Please help to check if the debian package provided can fix the issue. Thanks.

After our offline support, you have successfully flashed.
However, please help answer the below questions for our further analysis. Thanks.

  • Is this the first time you flashed the board out of box?
  • Or had you been using but never flashed? Did you see any errors on booting about Aurix update?

As noted in the other support exchange, the network is not coming up, and a software reboot (reboot from the command line) does not restart the system without power-cycling.

  • I’ve attempted flashing the system several times. The system shipped to me with no OS installed.
  • I don’t see any messages during boot, the first thing to display is the Ubuntu login screen

Please create topics for different issues.

The questions are to know if you have ever flashed the system before atempting to flash DRIVE OS 6.0.5 this month?

  • Is this the first time you flashed the board out of box?
  • Or had you been using but never flashed? Did you see any errors on booting about Aurix update?
  • Yes, I have previously flashed the system, but not with DRIVE OS.
  • I have never seen errors from the Aurix on the boot screen

@jace.mogill1
If not DRIVE OS, may I know what you flashed to the system previously?

SDKManager installed the Jetson OS.
