I would like to understand how to Build the rootfs and the kernel image made of Buildroot for a Bluefield. For many reason, I cannot and do not want to use a pre-made Ubuntu image that is shipped by nvidia.
Then, I’d like to understand how to package and “burn” this image on the eMMC or the nvme disk ? How does grub and the UEFI would be able to handle this image ?
Good to know you’re using a BF.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a guide about how to build BFB of BuleField with Buildroot.
The BFB of BF-Bundle includes full software and firmware.
If firmware is needed only, the BF-FW-Bundle can be downloaded and burned to the device.
OK, and assuming I’d like to contribute and add on my own the Buildroot support, what would be the requirements to follow ?
For instance, what are the Linux kernel patches that are used, if any ?
How does BFB operate and work ? What is the format of the image for the eMMC ? assuming I’d like not to use the NVME disk.
Hi ,
If the BlueField on your hand is still under warranty, or your company has a valid entitlement to NVIDIA products.
I suggest you contact NVIDIA Enterprise Support to get more support.
You can create a case through:
https://enterprise-support.NVIDIA.com/s/create-case
Describe your questions in the case, and provide the SN of BlueField and your business email.
Good Luck.
