Camera Suggestions for Thor

We are trying to do outdoor machine learning for animal tracking and kinematics, we would like to leverage the HSB.

We’re having a hard time navigating network switches and finding cameras that are IP67. We were looking at Basler ace 2s paired with their PoE Gige to 10Gige adapter cards. However, Basler does not appear to support direct integration with the HSB for the Thor.

We have also been looking at some of e-con’s cameras, but have been struggling to pinpoint ones to use.

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Hi @cgsimon ! There are a few NVIDIA partners that are creating HSB cameras. One of them is Leopard Imaging, you can check their options here: Sensor Bridge - Leopard Imaging Inc.. I don’t know if those cameras are IP67 but you may ask them directly.

Both Holoscan and SIPL have out-of-the-box support for some of the Leopard cameras such as the IMX274 and the VB1940.

The technology is very new, so the recommendation is to be patient and more options will come.
On the other side, if you are adventurous and want to create your own HSB-based camera, RidgeRun can help with the Holoscan integration or the SIPL driver as well, from the software point of view.
