Can anyone tell me if it is ok to detach the bottom bracket from the Developer kit?

Hi,

I’ve been looking at building a cluster of 4 Orin Nanos. I’ve got a spare cluster case that is designed for the raspberry pi but I “can” attach an Orin Nano to the case if I detach the bottom bracket.

My question is does the bottom bracket need to be attached? I can see that there are two wires coming out of the bottom bracket that are “snapped” onto a component on the base of the Developer kit, but I’ve not got a clue if these two wires are required to be connected for the device to fully function.

This is what the detached bracket looks like:

Those are just coaxial connectors for your wifi antennas. If you take the antennas off it would be good practice to pull the wifi module out. Running without a load presents a high VSWR to the transmitter and who knows what will happen, just depends on module design.

Thanks, I would probably want to have one of the Nanos use wifi so I’ll see if I can leave one of them attached to the bracket and get it fitted into the case.
