Can CUDA make my computer down ?!

Hello all,

I use GTX285 and Windows XP 64bit .
I tried to develop an application using CUDA.

Sometimes, my desktop is down during test my code and I should reset my PC.
Can misusing CUDA make desktop down?

Anyone suffered similar problems, please let me know your experience.
