Can we delete the extra partitions and then use the unallocated space?

Continuing the discussion from Jetson Nano sd card partitions can not extend :

Instead of moving the partitions, I deleted the extra partitions and then resized the first partition in my 64GB SD Card. This seems to have worked for my application but would it affect my system performance during operation? Also if you could mention the purpose of the partitions, and why they were made, it would be great!

Thank You!

hello prajwal,

may I know what exactly the extra partitions you’re removed?
thanks

Hello Jerry, Thank you for the response.
I have a 64GB SD Card and I flashed it with the JetBot SD card Image Version 0.4.3 which is based on Jetpack Version 4.5. Upon doing this there were several partitions created as shown in the image below.

I deleted all those partitions and resized it as a single partition as shown below.

hello prajwal,

am still not sure what’s these other partitions coming from,
I’ve check the Nano-SD, and this is only single APP partition allocated.
for example,

$ ls -al /dev/disk/by-partlabel/
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root  60  Jul  14 16:05 .
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 160  Jul  14 16:05 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  15  Jul  14 16:05 APP -> ../../mmcblk0p1

Thank you for your response Jerry. I’ll work with these for now and update if there are any developments.

I guess we can close this issue for now.
