Cannot get nvidia sync to connect to spark(s) even after hours of AI led SSH file permissions troubleshooting - is it actually possible with Win10?

I just want to use Nvidia sync to update patches on the spark. i dont want to have to install something like nomachine on the spark. But after hours upon hours of..

-always start nvidia sync as admin..

-adding a device is always successful

-i can always connect to spark (s) with ssh with username passwrod in separate command prompt on windows 10

  • but i always get the nvidia sync message

i have spent hours AI led ssh key permissions manipulation, and occasionally can connect to the sparks via ssh and key (no username and password) only for the config to break again when i go back to nvidia sync.

Does this nvidia sync actually work on Windows 10 ? I use windows 10. i know MS say they dont support it any more. Is this also the case with Nvidia and they dont support sync on win 10?

Im going to add that everything works fine on windows 11. It seems Windows 10 is no longer supported

Windows 10 is supported. If you can share the nvsync.log that would be helpful in debugging. Failing to find the key usually means either the config file got messed up, or the alias name is somehow failing to resolve to an actual config so the key is empty.

Where is this log? i cant find it on the spark. is it on the spark or windows?

ok i found somethnig on windows - lots of failed connections - . ive changed my user name, but other than that, here it is!

nvsync_user_redacted.log (147.6 KB)

The “dial unix” errors are internal communication within Sync

Can you provide your C:\Users\MyUserAccount\AppData\Local\NVIDIA Corporation\Sync\config\ssh_config file? If you don’t want to provide the whole file, I’m specifically looking at the IdentityFile line for the “Host 192.168.1.126” entry

Also, can you verify that the IdentityFile exists.
