Hi，

I have an Ubuntu 20.04 system with kernel version 5.4.0-152-generic. I downloaded and installed MLNX\_OFED\_LINUX-5.8-3.0.7.0-ubuntu20.04-x86\_64.tgz from the Mellanox website.

When I try to load the nvme-rdma module by running the command “modprobe nvme-rdma”, I get the following error:

modprobe: ERROR: could not insert ‘nvme\_rdma’: Invalid argument

The dmesg output shows the following error messages:

[48118.445526] nvme\_fabrics: disagrees about version of symbol \_\_nvme\_submit\_sync\_cmd

[48118.445530] nvme\_fabrics: Unknown symbol \_\_nvme\_submit\_sync\_cmd (err -22)

Please assist me with resolving this issue. Thank you.

Hello,

Make sure you install the MLNX\_OFED driver with the --with-nvmf flag.
E.G:

# ./mlnxofedinstall --with-nvmf

Best Regards,
Viki

I was able to resolve the issue and posted here: [Installing OFED with NVMe-oF on a System with OS Installed on NVMe - #5 by user157267](https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/installing-ofed-with-nvme-of-on-a-system-with-os-installed-on-nvme/305937/5)
