Can't flash basic ubuntu headless version on agx orin 64GB

Hello,

I’m trying to build a custom rootfs (without gui) and flash it to the agx. I want to run agx as a headless unit because I dont need the extra GUI stuff.

I have done the following:

  1. Download L4T 35.4.1 BSP from the nvidia website. (https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/embedded/l4t/r35_release_v4.1/release/jetson_linux_r35.4.1_aarch64.tbz2/)
  2. Run sudo ./nv_build_samplefs.sh --abi aarch64 --distro ubuntu --flavor basic --version focal
  3. Extract sample_fs to rootfs
  4. Run ./apply_binaries
  5. Run l4t_create_default_user.sh -u ubuntu -a to create a user
  6. Run ‘./nvsdkmanager_flash.sh --storage nvme0n1p1’
  7. The flash is successful.

However, how do I boot my agx with tty console (so i can setup ssh over wifi). There is no /dev/ttyACM*. (im using type-c next to 40pin for both flashing and debug console over tty)

Hi raj28,

Are you using the devkit or custom board for AGX Orin?
What’s your Jetpack version in use?

If you are using the devkit, you should use Micro-USB port on the devkit to access the debug console.
Please find more details in the following instruction.
NVIDIA Jetson Orin - Serial Console (ridgerun.com)
