all driver versions higher than 392.00 fail to install on Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit (1803; build 17134.345). The installer fails during compatibility check with “The standard NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of windows”. The recommended solution to use GeForce Experience instead fails too.
My system is a Dell Precision 3630 with a Quadro P620 delivered by Dell. But even the latest drivers by Dell fail with the same error message.
The Nvidia drivers webpage lists the P620 as supported by the latest driver releases. But the release notes pdf does not even mention the P620 - only the P600 is mentioned.
I’ve tried both DCH versions of the installer. Neither ODE nor QNF could be installed.
The Installer fails with “The Standard NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. Please update your driver using GeForce Experience to download the correct version”.
Allthough the installer calls it “Standard” driver the installer package I’ve downloaded and used is called:
411.95-quadro-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe
So it’s the dch version.
The Nvidia control panel of the currently installed version 392.00 doesn’t show the type of driver currently installed.
When my PC was delivered by our IT department no graphics drivers wer installed. As far as I remember I’ve just installed the standard driver version - 392.00 was the most current at this point time.
I have local admin rights on this machine. Should I try to uninstall the driver currently in use?
