Change power mode without reboot

Board: 64GB AGX Orin dev kit (not third party)
JP: 6.0
OS: Ubuntu 22.04

Is it possible to change back-and-forth between low and high power modes without rebooting the board?

Using the instructions from the docs works as intended. But reboots cause a major inconvenience for my deployment and we ideally be able to change power modes without reboots.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Hi,
If the device cannot be flashed/booted, please refer to the page to get uart log from the device:
Jetson/General debug - eLinux.org
And get logs of host PC and Jetson device for reference. If you are using custom board, you can compare uart log of developer kit and custom board to get more information.
Also please check FAQs:
Jetson AGX Orin FAQ
If possible, we would suggest follow quick start in developer guide to re-flash the system:
Quick Start — NVIDIA Jetson Linux Developer Guide 1 documentation
And see if the issue still persists on a clean-flashed system.
Thanks!

Hi Carol.

The device is working perfectly normal. I’m just wondering if there’s a way I can change power modes without rebooting. Thanks.

Hi gavin28,

The reboot is required when you change the power mode.

Thanks
