Change wifi drivers

I bought a tplink wifi dongle and trying to use a driver different to rtl8xxxu. I’ve blacklisted it by editing the modprobe blacklist file. I’ve tried regenerating the initramfs but get the following output:

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-4.9.201-tegra
Warning: couldn't identify filesystem type for fsck hook, ignoring.
I: The initramfs will attempt to resume from /dev/zram3
I: (UUID=b17fe3a6-ac0e-4238-a9ca-3cc24b683093)
I: Set the RESUME variable to override this.
/sbin/ldconfig.real: Warning: ignoring configuration file that cannot be opened: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/aarch64-linux-gnu_EGL.conf: No such file or directory
/sbin/ldconfig.real: Warning: ignoring configuration file that cannot be opened: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/aarch64-linux-gnu_GL.conf: No such file or directory

When I reboot sudo lshw -c network shows that the wifi dongle is using the blacklisted driver.

There is no update from you for a period, assuming this is not an issue any more.
Hence we are closing this topic. If need further support, please open a new one.
Thanks

What is your step to put something in blacklist?

And why does porting a wifi driver require to generate initramfs?
