# Changing Power mode in Jetson nano

Hi,  
I came across changing the power mode to MAXN or 5W using nvpmodel commands in jetson Nano.  
But i want to know whether we can set a power mode while building the image itself, like in kernel or by some other hack??

@dusty_nv @ShaneCCC  
By default the MAXN mode is selected. Can i change this default to 5W mode, other than using the command nvpmodel??

You can try to modify the /etc/nvpmodel.conf

@ShaneCCC thanks for the reply. But can i edit /etc/nvpmodel.conf before building the kernel image?  
I actually wanted to know whether 5w mode can be set as default in the image which I am building for nano.

Yes, the configure file won’t change for update kernel Image.
