CloudXR Connection Problem with 531.68 NVIDIA GPU Driver

Hi,

we are using EC2 Instances (g5.4xlarge) with Windows Server 2022 to stream applications via NICE DCV to the Browser. Also we use Cloud XR to stream to VR Headsets. The applications are usually created in Unreal Engine therefore we often need the latest GPU driver as well as updated Prerequesites for Unreal.

We install the driver as explained here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/install-nvidia-driver.html

With a recent update we found a problem that Unreal 5.2 apps require at least 526.47. Now we first installed the latest driver: windows/531.68_Cloud_Gaming_win10_win11_server2019_server2022_dch_64bit_international.exe

The Problem we get here is that CloudXR for some reason can not connect anymore using this driver. We end up in the cloudXR client where we just see the spinner and the connetion is never established. So we tried older driver versions where CloudXR does work, but there we get the problem that NICE DCV always stays with a small resolution and does not use the browsers resolution.

So we wanted to check is this a known issue with the latest driver? Is there any fix for it? We would be happy to simply use the latest driver.

hmmm give me a few days and I’ll try setting up a test to see if something changed.

AWS normally posts the $LATEST version to be used. For the GRID driver this currently is set to 528.89. For the gaming driver it is 531.68. I installed both driver versions on my G5 instance and had no issues connecting. Have you seen anything within the client or server logs that may help?

Worth noting, I do also see the same DCV display desktop issue of it not filling the browser page. I don’t believe is the case with the GRID driver.

Hi!

Thanks for checking we found now that with the even new version 536.25 the connection actually works. But not sure what was the problem with 531. We also found a solution for that sizing issue with nice dcv.
