Command 'nvidia-smi' stuck in centos7

hi,

When I used the command ‘nvidia-smi’ in centos7, it was stuck.

But I can’t upgrade the graphics driver now because the algorithm I use doesn’t support the latest version.

I want to upgrade vBios to the latest version, but I can’t find the correct upgrade method.

So I would like to ask what will cause the command ‘nvidia-smi’ to be stuck, and how to upgrade vbios but not upgrade the graphics driver?
