Connecting 4 CSI-2 Cameras to Jetson Orin Nano

Hello everyone,

I’m looking to connect four CSI-2 cameras to my Jetson Orin Nano for a vision project requiring real-time capture from multiple perspectives. I understand the Orin Nano has some limitations in terms of CSI-2 connectors, so I’m interested in recommendations for any additional equipment or adapters to make this setup work.

Here are my main questions:

  1. Equipment and Adapters: What additional hardware would you recommend for connecting four cameras to the Jetson Orin Nano? I’ve come across options like the Arducam Camarray HAT, but I’d appreciate specific recommendations that are confirmed to work with this device.
  2. Reliable Vendors: Are there any reliable vendors you’d suggest for compatible cameras and adapters? Ideally, I’d like to avoid compatibility issues by using hardware that’s been tested with the Orin Nano.
  3. Experiences and Advice: Has anyone here successfully set up a similar multi-camera configuration on the Orin Nano? I’d love to hear about your experiences, any challenges you faced, and how you overcame them—especially around latency, synchronization, and connection stability.

Any advice, setup guides, or links to detailed tutorials (including videos, if available) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Maybe check with camera partner.

Hi ShaneCCC and team,

I checked the Arducam Camarray HAT, but I’m still uncertain about its full compatibility. In your documentation, it’s mentioned that the Jetson Orin Nano can support four cameras via CSI-2, but there are only two connectors physically present. I assume there must be a specific setup or hardware recommendation to achieve this.

Could you provide more details or specific links regarding:

  1. Recommended Equipment: Is the Arducam Camarray HAT the best solution for connecting four cameras to the Orin Nano? Any specific versions or models for compatibility?
  2. Official Guidance: Could you point me to documentation or guides on how to achieve a four-camera configuration on the Orin Nano?
  3. Configuration Tips: Any advice on minimizing latency and ensuring synchronization for this setup?

I really appreciate any help or detailed references you can provide, especially considering the details mentioned in your documentation.

Thank you!
