Correct Molex connector part number for Jetson Thor

Hi NVIDIA-Team,

I have a question about the Molex connector used to connect the Jetson Thor module to the carrier board.

The “Jetson Thor Series Supported Component List” below lists “203456-0003” as the recommended part number(https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/jetson/thor/docs/jetson-thor-series-scl-da-v1.3.pdf).
However, the BOM list(https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/assets/embedded/secure/jetson/thor/docs/jetson_thor_devkit_carrier_board_design_files.zip) for the Jetson Thor Devkit lists “203456-0008.
When we build a carrier board, which of these part numbers should we use?

These two connectors appear to differ in whether they have positioning ribs (three protrusions) on the housing; however, I am concerned that they may not mate properly if the connector mounted on the Jetson Thor module does not have recesses to accommodate the ribs.

Best Regards,
UNA

Hi UNA,

We confirmed the connector used on the Jetson Thor module side. Please use 203456-0008 for the carrier board connector. The module-side connector is the corresponding mating variant for 203456-0008.

The Jetson Thor Series Supported Component List currently lists 203456-0003, but this will be corrected in a future document update.

Thank you,

Hi hiwata

We are not able to find the part number 203456-0008 from Molex. Is this the correct order code? Please also provide the reason why the 203456-0003 gets removed from the supported component list? We are using this part. Thank you

Hello,

Yes, 203456-0008 is the correct Molex order code.

Regarding the Supported Component List, we are planning ti add “203456-0008”, not remove “203456-0003”.

The only difference between 203456-0003 and 203456-0008 is the addition of the three ribs on the connector housing. There is no change to the connector dimension or electrical interface.

We are checking internally for the detailed reason for adding the ribbed variant and will provide an update once confirmed.

Thank you,
