Correct way to shutdown and power off DRIVE AGX

Please provide the following info:
Hardware Platform: [DRIVE AGX Pegasus™ Developer Kit]
Software Version: [DRIVE Software 10]
Host Machine Version: [native Ubuntu 18.04]
SDK Manager Version: [1.0.1.5538]

Basic question. Do we need to shutdown both Xavier A and Xavier B first? Do we need to connect via minicom to issue poweroff command? Is there a script to make this easier?

Dear @gpu_power,
you need to connect via minicom to issue aurix poweroff command. Please see https://docs.nvidia.com/drive/drive_os_5.1.6.1L/nvvib_docs/index.html#page/DRIVE_OS_Linux_SDK_Development_Guide/Board/board_power_on.html

Thanks @SivaRamaKrishnaNV
So there is no need to perform shutdown now on both Xavier A and Xavier B first?

Yes. Power off should serve the purpose.

That’s great, and interesting.
Is there any risk that aurix poweroff without Ubuntu shutdown now first will cause loss of data?
Does aurix poweroff already include some form of Ubuntu shutdown now to flush disk caches, etc.?
Thanks @SivaRamaKrishnaNV

Dear @gpu_power,
There is no way to shut down the board from a Tegra. Aurix poweroff is the only way to power off the board. Please see Shut down sequence

Hi @SivaRamaKrishnaNV
I read that link and it looks like @PascalLieb asked a similar question. The accepted solution by @SteveNV does not seem to really answer the question.
The question is about “correct way to shutdown” “without damage of attached devices such as external hard disks, etc.”
@SivaRamaKrishnaNV you said “There is no way to shut down the board from a Tegra” - in the context of your response, it seems like you mean “There is no way to poweroff the board from a Tegra”. Also, you said “Aurix poweroff is the only way to power off the board” - well it is easy to power off the board by pulling the battery cable, but that seems unsafe.
So the back to the question about “correct way to shutdown”.

Could you please confirm if it is safe (no loss of data, no filesystem inconsistencies) by just issuing an aurix poweroff command. Or, could you please confirm if it is actually necessary to login to Xavier A and Xavier B separately, shutting down the operating system first, before issuing an aurix poweroff.

Thanks.
