when i try to use Nvidia Nsight Graphics it gives me the error of “Could not determine the GPU device of the current API context” as well as

ERR_NVPROFERR
Unknown failure initializing profiling
The following capabilities will be unavailable:
Shader Profiler
GPU Trace

I am using a MSI Raider GE78HX 13VG-042US with a Nvidia GeForce 4070 Laptop GPU

Thank you for using Nsight Graphics and providing us with your feedback. Could you try to do some change to your driver or run Nsight Graphics or your app in admin mode?

Here is how to change your driver to get proper privileges.

  • Open your driver’s control panel
  • Goto menu, ‘Desktop’ → ‘Enable Developer Settings’
  • In the new node, select ‘manage GPU Performance Counters’, choose all counters to all users.
