I would like to share a little information about tests that I just ran on two Vista-64 machines which might be useful:
CUDA 2.0 beta SDK
desktop with 8800GTX driver ver. 7.15.11.7455
and
HP laptop with 8600M GS driver is the same.
dhoff wrote that the current beta is for the GeForce 86, is that series correct (he is not listing 88)?
While executing oceanFFT.exe on my laptop with 8600, I am getting an error:
OpenGL extension missing
cufft: ERROR: D:/Bld/rel/gpgpu/toolkit/r2.0/cufft/src/config.cu
and
cufft:ERROR: INTERNAL_ERROR
D drive is reserved on HP laptop for OS system restore and there is nothing for Cuda there.
On the other hand on the desktop machine, which has 8800GTX,
I can run OceanFFT.exe – or other binaries without any problem.
The DOS screen shows: Using device0: GeForce 8800GTX.
The only problem I had was during the driver install.
I got an error → missing entry: NvCplRestorePersistence, but after I rebooted everything worked.
