CUDA 9.0 patches installation

I have recently installed the CUDA 9.0 on my Ubuntu 16.04 laptop and I was wondering if I should also be installing the 4 patches available (as of 18 Aug 2018). I will mostly be using it for OpenCV (with CUDA support) and deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow-GPU. Is installation of the patches necessary? Can I suffer from marked performance drop / problems if I do not do it?

Yes, you can suffer both performance and functionality issues.

If there were no issues at all, there would be no need for patches.

Yes of course, but my doubt is whether I have to install all of the available patches or only the most latest one?

if you want a properly patched installation, you need to install all 4.

Thanks that’s exactly what I’ve done :)
