CUDA and Visual C++ Express Edition building in Visual C++ Express Edition

I’m trying to build the CUDA examples using Visual C++ Express Edition. When I do a rebuild of the solution I ony get the xxxxx.exe.intermediate.manifest file created. The build process says all has completed without errors. Is something missing in the post build?

The executables end up in a different directory.
They should be in the bin subdirectory of the SDK.
