CUDA for OpenSolaris?

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if there are any plans to port CUDA to OpenSolaris? I know that an unofficial port was done by a Sun employee who visited NVidia - but I was wondering if there is anything official coming down the line?

I am getting a project off the ground where CUDA support in OpenSolaris would be hugely beneficial. (Yes, I know there’s MacOS or Linux, but neither are a good fit for this scenario for a number of reasons).

Having spoken to a few people at Sun it seems they are willing to tackle this sort of work - anyone from NVidia able to comment?

There are no current plans to provide CUDA support for Solaris.

Thanks for the reply - are you able to say why? Lack of resources? Lack of customer demand?
