CUDA still shows as "Update Required" after installing latest package for macOS

I just got my new MacBook Pro yesterday with 8.0.57 but the ‘reminder’ screen pops up e try time i reboot the system

Same to me , Bug on update

mac os 10.12.1

Also i can’t use the Octane render ( No cuda GPU ) DAWN APPLE!

It’s been for a long time that I can’t finish my work. my project was stopped because of a driver. I spend a lot of time, money to make an eGPU. I really need a driver for my 980Ti for MacOS Sierra 10.12.2.

One thing you could try is ping Apple about it. Not sure whether it would help, but it might. What’s an “eGPU”, BTW? “embedded” comes to mind, but that doesn’t really fit in the context of Apple.

Experiencing the same issue. Is this an Apple issue or an NVidia Issue? Has anyone found a solution yet?

Upgraded to macOS 10.12.3 today - no errors, no asking for updates.

One possible workaround, for the “update needed” warning anyway, is found in the below forum post.

It was written for a previous version of CUDA and previous web driver version numbers, but if you use the new/proper numbers, it should still work.

Also, I don’t know why it’s not listed on the CUDA Mac downloads page, but there is 8.0.63 version that works with MacOS 10.12.3:

http://us.download.nvidia.com/Mac/cuda_8_0/cudadriver_8.0.63_macos.dmg

nVidia just really sucks at keeping their website consistent:

This one still lists 8.0.55.

This one lists 8.0.57.

They really need to get their act together.

However, that being said, on my machine running macOS 10.12.3, the CUDA panel in System Preferences still doesn’t say an update is needed. I have CUDA 8.0.57. So the 8.0.63 package may be pre-release stuff.

“eGPU” means “external GPU”.

For example: Hands-on: Turbo charge your MacBook Pro graphics performance with the Akitio Node eGPU over Thunderbolt 3 - 9to5Mac

Still seeing this with High Sierra.
