I had to to completely re-install my Ubuntu 18.04! I am not a developer just a user but I can’t find any help. My system finished loading Ubuntu, the games ran ok without any problems, I did not see Nvidia listed in the additional drivers area. I have AGP 6800. The desktop is slowly getting more distorted. In windows it runs fine. Here is the main problem. I downloaded the latest driver and it crashed the system. I had to use the rescue environment. Before starting this I used the procedure to clear out all NVIDIA drivers. Please help, this should not be that hard installing a Nvidia driver. I have contacted Nvidia once in the last 15 years for Windows related issue. I would love to send you a picture of the distorted desktop.
