Deepstream 8.0 support for Jetson Orin AGX

Hi,

We are hoping to move to Deepstream, as 8.0 has the feature set we need.

However, according to the table in DS8.0 release notes it does not support the Jetson Orin AGX, only the Thor.

Are there plans to support the Jetson Orins in future releases soon? Or are the Orin’s deprecated? We do not wish to use deepstream 7.1.

Many thanks,
Magnus

Which feature do you want to use with DeepStream 8.0?

Mainly the nvunixfd plugins, which I guess we can implement a similar mechansim ourselves. Also keen to experiment with the Multi-View 3D Tracking.

The nvunixfd plugins are open source, you can get the source code package gst-nvunixfd_src.tbz2 according to the link provided in Working With Sources — NVIDIA Jetson Linux Developer Guide and try to port the plugin to DeepStream 7.1 GA environment.

Oo nice thanks, I will try this.

Are there plans to support Orins on future Deepstream releases though? Or are they being deprecated for Thor?

Currently there is no plan to support Orin platforms with DeepStream 8.0.

We also prefer that DS8.0 is based on ubuntu 24.04, for ros2 jazzy

So just to confirm, if we want to use future releases of Deepstream on a Jetson, we have to buy a Thor?

I found your JetPack roadmap. Looks like Orins will be supported for JP7.1, so I’d hope DS 8.X would be supported then.

Thank you for your interest in the Jetson product!

Can you answer this please?

The roadmap is true.

The roadmap doesn’t show Deepstream, only Jetpack.

Is the plan to support future releases of Deepstream on Jetson Orins eventually?

For Jetson platforms, the DeepStream goes with JetPack, there is no separated DeepStream without JetPack.

Bingo, understood, thanks for clarifying 👍
