Deepstream2.0 samples is not getting compiled! It shows some failure due to gstreamer

I was running the deepstream2.o samples and it is not getting compiled.
Thinking that it would be a gstreamer issue I reinstalled it, but it didnt helped.
Here is the error that I am getting for

Same with all of the configs>

Is there anything wrong with the setup?
I am using P4 Tesla and installed sudo apt install libssl1.0.0 libjpeg8 libgstreamer1.0-0 gstreamer-tools gstreamer1.0-plugins-good gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly gstreamer1.0-libav libgtk-3-0. But no hope; opencv is compiled with ffmpeg which is further compiled with binary h264 and nv code. Let me know if you want to know further about the setup.

Do you have display? if yes, can you export DISPLAY=:0 and try again?

We have checked the source4_720p_dec_infer-resnet_tracker_sgie_tiled_display_int8.txt, it works correctly on our environment.

To have more information, could you share the dmesg data with us?
Reboot -> Run pipeline -> dmesg -> copy data

which version of linux, machine that you are using with P4? can you letme know the step by step procedure or figure out anything unusual in mine?

  1. fresh install ubuntu
  2. driver 396 and cuda 9.2 with no OpenGLflag disabling noveau- as it caused login loop
  3. Cudnn, tensorrt, and gstream realated packages as per guide;
  4. compiled x264 installed nasm and compiled ffmpeg with nvcodec, then compiled opencv binary with ffmpeg, gstreamer etc.- None of it shows any errors. Yet I don’t know if it is required, the requirements show NVcodec. for which I have done this.
  5. exported all the paths in bashrc
  6. ran the deepstream app and even tried after removing the cache! Always it runs into this error

Suppose you have an NVIDIA card but the display is driven by a Matrox GPU, is this correct?

Yeah sure.

It was running on llvmpipe! not in the matrox card. Matrox card is MGA G200 series; they discontinued the support; the final version of their ubuntu graphics driver was released in 2006.

In order to maintain the GUI, kept the llvmpipe(the cpu driven graphics).

How did you worked around the iGPU part?

You should use nvidia graphic card as display for deepstream sink, or A hack way to use p4 as virtual display,
sudo nvidia-xconfig --busid “one p4 busid” --allow-empty-initial-configuration
sudo reboot

install nomachine from your windows and your ubuntu server, after that launch nomachine from
windows, and login to your ubuntu server then try again the deepstream app.

to make sure you load nvidia graphic driver, see this for reference,

I am using the display as such and for the remote access I am using teamviewer.

the llvmpipe that we are using is a nouveau package. So it could be the reason.

Yes the GStreamer is in the /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gstreamer-1.0/. Yet I have added the same path in GST_PLUGIN_PATH.

Hi using GTX1080Ti cards the issue has been resolved.

The issue that I Was facing was that I can’t use sink as EGL OSD unless I use a nvidia graphics card(with VGA support) and it should have a native monitor and won’t work with x-forwarding on the client machine if you are using a server.

I have tried the same in AWS P3/P2 instances and HPE server machine with P4s.

Make sure that you are running your display-Xorg on nvidia card- check nvidia-smi for the same.
1080 Ti has VGA and 3D controlling(rendering) capability.
Use ubuntu 16.04

  1. fresh ubuntu(16.04 gcc 5.4)
  2. install nvidia driver(396) with opengl, xorg overwriting. Used the nouveau as system display. deb/runfile
  3. install cuda 9.2 toolkit. deb/runfile
  4. install tensorrt, cudnn, gstreame as per instructions.
  5. compile opencv(with and without gstreamer) and included path in bashrc.
  6. install deepstream2 as per the instruction
