We are planning to use the V100 GPUS from a DGX-1 system in graphical mode to run OpenGL applications in Ubuntu 16.04. Based on the post from https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1028426/?comment=5246029#, we know it is possible using the GRID license. I have several questions:
Is it possible to run just few V100 GPUS in compute mode and the rest in graphical mode at the same time?
The installation of the GRID license: Does it follow the same procedure as for other Tesla cards?
DGX-1 is not "GRID enabled" as this is not a certified hardware yet.
Currently the use case for DGX is AI/DL and not GRID. This might change in the future but for now you cannot use a DGX-1.
For vGPU you would need a license server and within the VMs you assign the license server details in the NV control panel. You could get the licenses from the OEMs or from NPN partners.
