Hi everyone,

I am having a boot issue on my DGX Spark and would appreciate any help.

What happened:

- I believe I ran `sudo apt update`
- After restarting, the system no longer boots properly
- It now goes to a complete black screen
- I cannot get back into Ubuntu at all

What I can access:

- I can access BIOS/UEFI
- I cannot access GRUB

What I already tried:

- I looked online and saw that on DGX Spark, `Left Shift + Insert` might open GRUB
- I tried that multiple times
- It does not work for me
- I am using a wired keyboard

Current status:

- Every boot ends in a black screen
- I am unable to log in or reach recovery options

Questions:

1. Is there another reliable way to access GRUB on DGX Spark?
2. Is this likely caused by an Ubuntu/NVIDIA boot issue after package updates?
3. What are my best recovery options from here?
4. If GRUB is inaccessible, is USB recovery or reinstall the recommended path?

System:

- DGX Spark
- Ubuntu 24.04

Any guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks.

You will need to use “sudo apt dist-upgrade” or “full-upgrade“ or going to the Dashboard to do upgrade from there.
Your system might have ended up → half-upgraded
To go to the GRUB menu PRESS&HOLD “Shift” and “Insert” button together during boot up
