Cool! I hope you’re having fun with it. I’ve used lots of Jetson devices and the Thor seems quite capable.
Who is less interested in Spark now that an x86/N1 SoC version is on the horizon with Intel? Anyone willing to wait for this over Spark?
Honestly, the lower bandwidth aside, the only drawback Spark had for me was that it was ARM. Feeling pretty annoyed that we waited this long and NVIDIA announced a competing product even before releasing this one.
On the one hand I am not willing to wait even longer for the Intel N1 SoC machines, on the other, I will feel like I am wasting money on a less versatile product.
Oh cool, enjoy! I was looking at that for portable inference for deployment to complement the cluster. Have fun and let us know what you think.
I’m just really disappointed by the lack of communication from NVIDIA regarding the delays and possible release dates. It’s no wonder so many retailers are taking advantage of individuals by accepting payments without any updates from NVIDIA. I understand this isn’t going to be worth billions of dollars like their other partnerships or GPUs for data centers, but supporting small developers is what truly makes a difference.
Mobility/ Portability are priority for me and these were marketed for PCs/workstation more than portable units with similar output and an unknown 2026 launch. I’m hoping Jensen comes through in October before GTC on the DGX Sparks.
I remember that Jensen said DGX Spark would be a perfect Christmas gift in the March GTC keynote. I think we may see small shipments in October. Maybe it is difficult to shrink the Blackwell from 5nm to 3nm.
Production delays aside, from an optics perspective, NVIDIA may want to make sure the community that reserved Founder editions receive next steps emails prior to GTC.
That’s in 4 weeks else it’ll be an awkward public explanation and no CEO wants their keynote to be less visionary, more apology, with a side of you’ll may have a Christmas gift if we ship by November.
According to the Taiwanese news, Spark foundation and OEMs will be launched in October. Mass production starts in Q4.
Asus got at least 18K units. Gigabyte got 15K units. MSI 10K
Like you, I am worried about the size of models I can run, and like you, I was considering running 2 DGX Sparks for my project. I am still considering buying the one DGX Spark that I can get now, and then buying another DGX Spark to increase my computing power once I have proven my idea works. The only thing putting me off buying a Mac Studio is the CUDA availability only available on the DGX Spark, as I want to do llm inference and training on my own data sets.
What your thought on someone buying the DGX Spark to run LLM’s locally and running ffmpeg locally as well as TTS (Text to Speach) locally, I am also looking at LLM Inference and training with my own multiple data sources.
New update today and we are to look for an email soon to confirm our orders (just a reservation right now). We will have 4 days to confirm before it opens up to the general public. We’re almost there…
Yes I got the same email on 3rd October, It looks like they are rolling out the purchase emails in the order that people reserved online, and if you don’t purchase within the 4 day window, your place will be lost and given to the next people on the reservation list. So maybe they only have a certain number available now as they said they will produce more in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.
DGX Spark kept me hanging forever—if it doesn’t ship this month, I’m calling it quits
I have never received any update emails from Nvidia but when i logged in to my account this morning, i see “Stay tuned for an email invite to purchase.” under my reservation. So i’m guessing i might be able to purchase one soon as well. For reference, i reserved the NVIDIA DGX Spark - 4TB on 5/24 and my reservation number is around 28k. I also reserved one from Dell around the same time with $100 deposit but nothing from them yet.
my reservation is around 3k and it says the same as yours, “stay tuned for an email invite to purchase” like you I reserved a NVIDIA DGX Spark - 4TB on the 18th March 2025
im in 14xxx, received the email - just an fyi.
I understand that once the email arrives, we have 4 days to make the purchase. What is the usual delivery time after placing the order? Is the delivery date visible during the ordering process?
As the first (known) recipient of such an “you can now order” mail stated on r/LocalLlama, he got a delivery (or shipping) date, too. The order window is open for 4 days once you got the “order now”-mail.
Have only seen one poster yet that was allowed to order.
I just got invite from Asus for their ASUS Ascent GX10 to purchase.
It says “Availability: 7-9+ Days Expected in-stock date for this item is between 7-9 days. Item will ship once it is in stock.”
So sounds like we are very close!
Funny, no emails yet from Nvidia about the DGX Spark Founders Edition. Been checking my junk folder every few hours.
